The SWEA Project

Sustainable women's economic empowerment in agribusiness (SWEA) Project

Project Aims(2023-2027)

The project aims can be broken down into

• To address the extreme poverty women are grappling with, which makes them victims of gender-based violence, so that they have an economic voice.
• Our focus is to economically empower these girls and young women so that they are able to live a productive lifestyle of self-reliance and enjoy their economic rights.
• To engage 250 young women to venture into agribusiness—growing and selling crops on a cooperative system using both rain-fed and irrigation farming.
• Young women will get money through dividends that will be declared at the end of each financial year after selling their crops.
• Women will get money through employment offered in term wages, piece work on farms, and business dealings with women as farm input suppliers.
